2020 NSCW School Counselor Recognition Gala – Photos and Information
The MSCA would like to thank all who attended our Sixth Annual NSCW School Counselor Gala which was held on Friday, February 7th, 2020.
We would like to thank Lt. Governor Boyd K. Rutherford for presenting the Maryland School Counselor Association with a governor's citation in honor of this year's NSCW School Counselor Recognition Gala. We would also like to thank our Master of Ceremonies, Tom Rodgers - Anchor for Fox 45 News, Baltimore. Mr. Rodgers made the evening especially memorable for all who attended.
Congratulations to Kathleen Klecan (Frederick County, Brunswick Elementary School) for being named MSCA's Maryland School Counselor of the Year and Elementary School Counselor of the Year, Kristin Cavey (Carroll County, Winters Mill High School) for being named MSCA's High School Counselor of the Year, and Cathlin McCormick (Carroll County, East Middle School) for being named MSCA's Maryland Middle School Counselor of the Year.
We would like to recognize and congratulate our Maryland ASCA model school, Carole Highlands Elementary School, Prince George’s County Public Schools, and their school counselor, Cassandra Thomas.Also, congratulations to Dr. Ileana Gonzalez (John Hopkins University) for being named this year’s School Counselor Educator of the Year, Elizabeth Faison (Director of Student Services, Prince George’s County Public Schools) for being named this year’s MSCA Advocate of the year, Allison Seymour (Assistant Principal, Pikesville High School, Baltimore County Public Schools) for being named this year’s MSCA Administrator of the Year, and Jessica Martin (University of Maryland, Eastern Shore) for being named this year’s MSCA Graduate Student of the Year.
A special congratulations to our two High School Senior Scholarship Winners Lindsay Polar and Paige Sevinsky. The Maryland School Counselor Association wishes you the very best as you continue your educational journey.
